I don't think it's any secret that I love patterns. (If you don't believe me: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) I decided to make my own patterned wallpaper out of linoleum. I carved pattern motifs that I've photographed while traveling, objects inspired by the Folklore Museum in Ghent, and words in foreign alphabets that I wanted to function as shape rather than text. That was an incredibly wordy sentence.
I decided to try my hand at wheatpaste. I like the idea of making the world slightly prettier by decorating ugly areas. However, I do not have the right personality for street art. I was too scared of potentially being caught to do a decent job, and I was left just feeling guilty that someone was going to have to remove this. I want to print more of these and try some different, less destructive ways to spread them.
