4 feet by 8 feet handprinted on muslin. Huge pain in the ass, but ultimately worthwhile. I want this to function as a curtain or fabric, so I will probably end up printing more. I was interested in femininity, the relationship between culture and gender, blah blah blah pretentious art student. I carved an MDF block with silhouettes of strippers, ballerinas, fetuses, tampons turning into jets turning into a fleur-de-lis pattern, sperm, the Taj Mahal and other phallic landmarks, a diamond pattern turning into engagement rings, etc. I've seriously lost my mind.
5 feet by 3 feet, painting of my grandmother and her obese cat, oil with sand. I adapted this pattern from samples from Persia and Pompeii in Owen Jones' Grammar of Ornament. I'm starting to explore ideas about ornament and handcraft, and I think this is a beginning of something.
